Car accidents in Wilmington, North Carolina, and elsewhere are unique in that it is not always possible to know the extent to which someone has been injured simply by looking at the scene of the crash. Sometimes, a head-on collision that leaves two or more cars mangled beyond recognition results in both drivers walking away with minor scrapes. Other times, a simple fender bender results in death. And there are even car accidents where a person appears fine in the immediate aftermath of a collision, only to suffer serious injury or death in the following hours or days.
But one thing that car accidents always are is dangerous. Reality TV star Jenelle Evans was reported to have been involved in an accident on Oct. 27 in Wilmington. One of the stars of “Teen Mom 2” on MTV, she is said to have crashed her car into a light pole. An 18-year-old female passenger was with her in the front seat, and her 2-year-old son was strapped into a car seat in the back. Both mother and baby were taken to the hospital, and there was no immediate word on the condition of the passenger.
Fortunately, the baby is said to have escaped serious injury, and Evans also seems to have escaped severe consequences. Her problems with drugs and alcohol were documented during the filming of her reality show
In this case, the passenger of the car could seek to hold Evans liable for causing the accident and any injuries that result, whether or not they are detectable at first. If the passenger contacts a personal injury attorney, the lawyer can help assess the incident and determine whether or not there is a legal basis for pursuing a claim for injuries and pain and suffering.
