Car accidents happen for many reasons. Sometimes, drivers are simply not paying attention. Other times, drivers’ vision is obscured, and they do not see a problem before it too late. Unfortunately, the results are often the same regardless of the cause of the accident. Every day, people are hurt or killed in North Carolina car accidents.
Recently, a 16-year-old boy from North Carolina was killed while riding his bike through an intersection on Highway 74. The young man, who was a sophomore at Parkwood High School, was riding his bike to the store where is father works. He was crossing an intersection when an approaching vehicle struck him. He was taken to Carolina’s Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the hospital.
North Carolina police are still investigating the accident. Business owners in the area told reporters that poor visibility makes that intersection dangerous. They also stated that they’ve witnessed a number of accidents in that same intersection.
Those who knew the young man told reporters he would be sorely missed. Many have expressed their concern and condolences towards his parents.
No parent should ever have to bury a child. Unfortunately, car accidents take the lives of many young people in North Carolina. When that happens, the entire community is left to grieve. The tragedy of the accident will undoubtedly stand out in the minds of people in the community for quite some time.
