Police in Greensboro responded to reports of a crash early in the morning of Sunday, April 21. The two-car accident claimed the lives of two North Carolina residents and one man who authorities say was from out-of-state. The local crash reconstruction team is currently investigating factors that may have contributed to the fatal crash.

Authorities have reported that two sedans collided head-on sometime around 2 a.m. on Sunday morning. According to reports, one of the sedans driven by a 22-year-old man from out-of-state was traveling westbound in the eastbound lane of the road when the crash occurred. The two vehicles struck one another head-on.

The driver of the first sedan, along with the driver and passenger of the second vehicle, were all pronounced dead by emergency response teams arriving at the scene of the car accident. The other two victims were both North Carolina residents; a 21-year-old male and a 19-year-old female. There is no word yet as to whether additional factors played a role in the tragic crash, though an investigation is ongoing.

When a car accident results in the deaths of all parties involved, any legal recourse must fall to the next-of-kin. Should the driver of the first sedan, who was traveling in the wrong lane, be found responsible for the crash, the families of the other two victims may be able to seek further compensation from the estate of the first driver. In order to pursue such a course of action, it may be beneficial for the families to have a thorough understanding of North Carolina traffic laws as they pertain to lane changes and safe driving.
