Personal injury: driver runs red light, causes 3-car accident

On Behalf of | Mar 8, 2012 | Car Accidents |

Getting behind the wheel of a car is a huge responsibility. Still, for some reason, driving becomes one of those daily habits that is often taken for granted, and it’s very easy to forget how dangerous driving can be. This is especially true when the distractions of everyday life take over — as they often do during an early morning commute. A recent car accident in Wilmington, North Carolina, resulted in serious injury, and is a stark reminder that operating a motor vehicle should never be taken lightly.

At around 5:30 in the morning on March 2, a driver ran a red light in Wilmington and caused a three-car accident involving personal injury to at least two individuals. According to a news report from WWAY 3, when the car proceeded through the light, two other vehicles crashed into it. The accident took place at the intersection of Martin Luther King Parkway and North College Road.

Many details of the crash are currently unknown. However, it was confirmed that multiple victims were transported to a local hospital for medical care. Two of the car accident victims are undergoing treatment at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. There has been no information released regarding the possible criminal charges the faulted driver may face. However, even in the absence of criminal charges, those victimized in the crash and who suffered an injury may find benefit in learning more about the rights and options available to them under the umbrella of the law.
