3 men wanted for use of weapon in Wilmington robbery

Sometimes, an individual’s circumstances can lead him or her to make choices that are outside the norm. Adrenaline, fear and stress can impact decision-making skills in such a way that can lead to a course of action that may later be considered questionable. Currently, police in Wilmington, North Carolina, are searching for three men — wanted in the armed robbery of a cab driver — who may have found themselves in such a situation.

Police were dispatched to the parking lot of Codington Elementary School on Carolina Beach Road at around 1:45 a.m., after learning a cab driver’s keys and money had been stolen by men yielding a weapon. The course of events and the catalysts leading up to the alleged robbery are currently not known. Purportedly, the driver was robbed at gunpoint by three men. A police helicopter was dispatched to search for the suspects. The search was suspended at around 3:30 in the morning and yielded no results.

Unfortunately, difficult circumstances do not change the parameters of right and wrong in the eyes of the law — and even victims of circumstance can face harsh legal consequences if they choose to use a weapon in the perpetration of a crime.

If the men are apprehended, they could face potentially heavy legal penalties, including additional charges associated with the use of a weapon. It may be beneficial for these men to seek advice from an experienced legal professional as they seek to protect their rights and freedom.
