School bus accident sends woman to the hospital

On Behalf of | Oct 6, 2011 | Car Accidents |

In Wilmington, North Carolina a woman was hospitalized after she was involved in an accident with a school bus carrying children from Codington Elementary School.

Thankfully, none of the children on the bus were injured in the accident. The driver of the car involved in the accident was taken to a local hospital, but her condition has not yet been released. The accident took place at about 3 p.m. as school students were being driven home. It happened in the 5500 block of Carolina Beach Road. Some of the children’s parents came to the scene of the accident to drive their children home, but the rest of the children were able to complete their ride home on the bus.

Police have not released the circumstances of the crash or who was at fault in the case. It is possible that the woman made a mistake while driving. At the same time, the bus driver might have been at fault.

In this case, the injured woman may choose to seek compensation if she was injured as a result of another person’s negligent actions. On the flip side, if any of the children on the school bus end up dealing with aches and pains that come forth after the accident, the parents may want to file for compensation to cover medical expenses. A personal injury attorney may be able to provide options for obtaining compensation and damages for both the emotional and physical distress that is often associated with such a frightening ordeal.
