A car accident can happen at any time and pretty much anyplace with little or no warning. While not all car accidents are fatal, many result in serious injuries. Recently, a North Carolina car accident occurred that sent everyone involved to the hospital.

The car accident occurred in the city of Winterville at approximately 9:30 p.m. on June 9. A truck was headed southbound on Memorial Drive when it drove through an intersection at Firetower Road and then T-boned a car. All five people involved in the crash sustained injuries and were taken to the Vidant Medical Center to receive treatment. Reports do not state their conditions or how serious their injuries were. Fortunately, no one was killed.

The Winterville Fire-Rescue was first to respond to the scene and extricated all of the victims from their vehicles. The Greenville Fire-Rescue, Ayden EMS and Eastcare also provided aid in this accident. Parts of the road where the accident occurred were shut down as emergency responders helped to clear the scene.

There was no blame assigned and no external factors were reported to have played a part in this North Carolina accident. Whether the truck driver failed to yield at the intersection or if the car driver was negligent is unknown, one or both parties may be found at fault once the investigation is concluded. Such will allow the families to better understand what exactly occurred to cause this car accident and will undoubtedly assist them as they assess whether to pursue personal injury claims for injuries suffered in the collision.
