Accident in Brunswick injures one, leaving traffic bottlenecked

A horrifying car accident took place earlier this month on Highway 421 in North Carolina, causing major delays during rush-hour traffic. The accident occurred where Point Harbor Road intersects with Highway 421, near the Thomas Roads Bridge in Brunswick. Traffic was backed up bumper to bumper in both directions.

According to a state trooper from the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the driver of a white pickup truck pulled out of point Harbor Road at around 5:00 p.m. While attempting to make a left hand turn, he was struck by a tractor-trailer. The driver of the tractor-trailer had been heading northbound when the accident occurred.

Emergency responders reported that the driver of the pickup truck appeared to have serious injuries and he was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. The 18-wheeler was not carrying a load when the collision took place, which may have lessened the force of impact. The tractor-trailer driver was not injured in the accident.

Additional details of the case are not yet known. It has not been reported as to which driver may be found at fault in the crash. In either case, accident victims are often entitled to damages in the form of monetary compensation. Often times, compensation in personal injury cases that result from an accident like this are used to offset the cost of medical bills, vehicular damage or lost wages. Depending upon which driver is determined to be at fault in the aforementioned incident; Brunswick legal counsel may be able to offer assistance in pursuing a personal injury claim.
